Rachel is originally from the Midwest, although moved to Arizona for undergrad and spent some time in Texas before and during grad school before returning to Arizona to make it her permanent home. Rachel has extensive experience working with children and adolescents in both school and outpatient behavioral health clinic settings in various educational, social service and therapeutic roles. Operating from a relational framework and strengths-based perspective, Rachel supports youth of all ages with learning to identify and express their emotions while also learning to healthily cope with their feelings.

Through Rachel’s diversified experiences, she’s developed a passion for working with “the littles” and specializes with children in the birth-five population, including: toddlers and young children pre-k to kindergarten. Rachel often incorporates play therapy during sessions with young children and enjoys supporting young children and their families with an array of issues, including those related to: anxiety/worries, attachment/bonding, behavioral problems/child-parent conflict, developmental milestones/delays, grief/loss, life transitions, and social skills.

In addition to “the littles”, Rachel enjoys supporting children and adolescents who are struggling with anxiety/depression, low self-esteem/negative body image, peer/relationship problems, and ADHD symptoms/impulsivity. During sessions with older children and adolescents, Rachel will often utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectal behavior therapy (DBT) skills, and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) techniques.

Rachel additionally has a passion for parent coaching and consulting, including providing parents with: psychoeducation/resources, tools/techniques to enhance the child-parent relationship, and support surrounding limit-setting/positive discipline.

In Rachel’s spare time, she enjoys hiking and yoga, traveling and experiencing new cultures, watching architecture and design shows, listening to music and going to concerts, FaceTiming her family and friends from afar, and spending quality time with her significant other and friends.
