Dr. Matthew Barcellona was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California. He grew up with a passion for playing baseball. That love continued at Chapman University where he was Captain of the baseball team and an Academic All-American. In addition, Dr. Barcellona has an affinity for photography. He loves the thrill of capturing a beautiful moment of our earth's unique landscape and the challenge of photographing animals in their natural habitat. In fact, most of photos hanging in our Deer Valley location are Dr. B originals!
Since joining North Scottsdale Pediatrics in 2007, Dr. Barcellona has enthusiastically embraced his role as a community pediatrician and physician leader. In addition to delivering compassionate care to his patients, he served as the president of the Greater Phoenix Pediatric Society and on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. When asked what he loves about pediatrics, "Dr. B" says he most enjoys making a personal connection with each of his patients and their families to make the experience at the doctor's office as enjoyable as possible.
On his days off, you might stumble upon Dr. B and his wife, Dawn taking their son, Isaac, on an epic adventure.
