Dr. Jennifer Caplan is originally from western Michigan and spent her childhood in Washington state and northeast Texas. Dr. Caplan has been a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine since 2009, and has been an official lactation consultant (IBCLC) since 2012. She enjoys using her skills to help moms who are struggling to meet their breastfeeding goals. In order to serve this need, she is available for lactation consultation visits and does perform simple frenotomies in babies under the age of 1 month when necessary.
Dr. Caplan enjoys knitting and theatre. She spends much of her free time making costumes for her daughters’ theatre group. She is also an active member in her church’s handbell choir. She speaks some Spanish. Her husband, Michael, is a professor in the Bioengineering Department at Arizona State University. They have two daughters, Abby and Rachel.
