Dr. Fischler's Retirement

Dr. Fischler's Retirement
Posted on 04/20/2020
I want to express my appreciation to all of the familes I've had the privilege to know over 32 years at North Scottsdale Pediatric Associates. Pediatrics and medicine have been my calling and working with you has been inspiring.

What a special joy when children I cared for years ago now bring their own kids to the practice, or when former patients become partners! If you love kids, I can’t think of a better job than watching them grow and coaching a generation of parents, and to be there to help a child and family manage a difficult medical situation.

I’ve had the privilege to be in the best place and surrounded by the best people — wonderfully supportive staff and dedicated talented partners. For 28 of those years, it’s been Vivian Ziltzer who shared the dream and  has led the practice so ably, allowing me to scale down as I prepared for retirement. Thanks to her leadership and all my skilled and caring partners and associates, without whom there would be no NSPA. Thanks also to a wonderful staff who’ve been really tested the past few weeks with the COVID-19 outbreak and the unique challenges and risks it poses. The greatest strength I think of NSPA is the quality of its people and the teamwork: Every person contributes and matters. A special shout out to our wonderful Clinical Coordinator Roberta Beattie who has served in many roles over the years and is retiring later this year.

I want to assure you that as I step away, your kids are in very good hands! This practice has built a reputation for quality and service and I believe is in a very strong position to take on the future. I have complete confidence that you will continue to be satisfied at NSPA despite my absence.

I’m  looking  forward to retirement and the opportunities to learn new things, to travel and play in both Arizona and Maine, and to welcome our first grandchild in the fall. I feel very blessed and grateful! My wife, Lory, and I celebrate our 50th anniversary in August, but our Alaska cruise will have to wait. No worries!

I'd love to  hear from you and see your photos!

With best personal wishes, and  stay safe! This COVID outbreak too shall pass.
